Simonson’s Contact Info
The best way to reach me is via email as I check it often throughout the day. Of course you may also phone, but during class time, the call will go to voice-mail. In the case of an emergency, call the office and they will put the call through or send someone to my room.
If you are near by, please come in to the school and see me in my room (234). It is awesome! If you come while I’m teaching, you will have have to join in, but at lunch or after school, I’ll be here.

I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at UVic before moving to Vancouver to get my BSc in Physics at UBC. I stayed at UBC to get my Bachelors Degree in Education. After that, I taught Senior Math, Physics and Computer Science in the Richmond School District for four years. I have been teaching at Oak Bay for 20 years and during that time I have taught Science, Physics and Math. In fact, I was Math Department Head for three years before someone much better came along (T.Spray). Besides teaching, I really like to learn new things myself and help other teachers learn too. In 2007 I completed my Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership through Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington. Go Bulldogs!
As much as I love teaching, my family comes first. I try to spend as much time as I can with my wife and two kids. We are all pretty active, and if you don’t already know, I’m kinda into bikes. My whole family rides to work or school each day and in our spare time we keep riding: on the road or in the dirt or on the track, we love it all! To support all the riding I do a lot of cooking and baking. I love food. OK, time to get back to studying…
Hope you have a great year!
